Insoles for Hip Pain

Did you know that pain in your hips and lower back can sometimes stem from alignment problems elsewhere?

Poor posture, overpronation and various injuries to the feet and the lower limbs can all cause damage to your hip joints – and the muscles and ligaments that surround them – over time. Here, we talk you through the various causes of hip pain and introduce you to the role that OrthoSole insoles can play in correcting your gait, stabilising your feet and ankles, and ultimately taking the pressure off this extremely important part of your body.

What causes hip pain?

The most common cause of hip pain is injury due to overexertion. This is why it’s so often seen in sports men and women, and people who are consistently active. However, there are many other reasons why your hips might be hurting. Other conditions associated with pain in this area include:

  • Arthritis
  • Bursitis
  • Tendonitis
  • Muscle strains
  • Avascular necrosis (osteonecrosis)
  • Fractures

As we mentioned earlier, hip pain can sometimes be due to misalignment in your pelvis, overpronation during movement, and excessive heel eversion.

If you are experiencing hip pain that is excruciatingly painful, that lasts for more than a few days at a time, or that is present with other symptoms, be sure to book an appointment with your doctor to discuss what you’re feeling in more detail and rule out a more serious underlying cause.

What can you do to treat it?

If you’ve strained a muscle or a tendon in your hip, good old rest and relaxation – coupled with short-term pain relief medication – should do the trick. Stretching exercises can help to reduce pain and encourage greater strength and flexibility in your joints while your hip is still recovering, while regular low-impact sports like walking and swimming will help to keep you mobile post-healing.

We would also recommend giving our orthotic insoles for hip pain a try. These inserts have been specifically designed to deliver extra support to your foot arches and absorb some of the stress that can be placed on your feet during movement. It’s this kind of pressure that can eventually end up placing your hip joints under strain.

Their unique arch pads go some way to correcting overpronation, while their accompanying metatarsal pads improve weight distribution and add more much-needed cushioning to the balls of your feet.

OrthoSole supplies a range of orthotic shoe insoles for hip pain

All our insoles will help to relieve hip pain – it’s just a matter of choosing the insert that best suits your footwear and your overall lifestyle.

We offer three core products: Max Cushion, Thin Style and Lite Style insoles. Each of these insoles offers unique cushioning and shock absorbing qualities and is supplied with a set of customisable arch and metatarsal pieces.

For maximum benefit we recommend purchasing our Max Cushion for your Trainers & Work Boots (shoes with that bit of room) and then our Thin Style for your tight fitting / formal shoes. No matter what shoes you wear making sure the support is there!
