The revolutionary arch pad supplied within our OrthoSole insoles provides much-improved support to the arch in your foot. The pad acts as support to the arch inside your shoes and helps to relieve the pain caused by plantar fasciitis.
What is Plantar Fasciitis?
The plantar fascia is a thin ligament that connects your heel to the front of your foot. It provides support to the arch, so it’s key in helping you walk comfortably. Plantar fasciitis – which is sometimes referred to as policeman’s heel – causes pain in the bottom of the heel of the foot.
Your plantar fascia ligaments experience a lot of wear and tear from day to day. Normally, these ligaments act as shock absorbers, but too much pressure on your feet can damage or tear the ligaments. The plantar fascia becomes thick and inflamed, and this inflammation causes heel pain and stiffness.
Flat feet, or feet with very high arches, are more likely to develop plantar fasciitis, and tight Achilles tendons (the tendons attaching the calf muscles to the heels) may also contribute to plantar fasciitis pain. Simply standing on your feet for hours each day or exercising intensely can exacerbate the symptoms, too.

How is Plantar Fasciitis treated?

Plantar Fasciitis insoles from OrthoSole
OrthoSole’s insoles for plantar fasciitis provide the perfect fit, just for you. They were created as an effective alternative to the usual uncomfortable, unsupportive, one-size-fits-all insoles. They are the only insoles on the market that provide customisable arch and metatarsal supports, which means they are entirely designed to accommodate your specific foot and body type.
For maximum benefit we recommend purchasing our Max Cushion for your Trainers & Work Boots (shoes with that bit of room) and then our Thin Style for your tight fitting / formal shoes. No matter what shoes you wear making sure the support is there!
As a general rule, you should use the firmest arch piece possible to alleviate the symptoms of plantar fasciitis (as long as you still find the insoles comfortable, of course).
Heel lifts for Plantar Fasciitis
When worn under both heels, our 8mm heel lifts can help to take the stress away from the plantar fascia tissues (the thin ligament that connects your heel to the front of your foot)
